Academic Writing & AP Research Support
AP Research • AP Seminar • AP English • College-Preparatory Writing
Advanced Placement and college-level writing expectations can feel overwhelming—for students and for parents trying to support them without crossing lines.
I offer high-level academic writing and research coaching for high school students in Western Kentucky, with a focus on AP Research, AP Seminar, AP English Language & Literature, and other advanced courses that require sustained research and analytical writing.
This work is designed to help students understand expectations, build strong arguments, and revise with confidence—without shortcuts and without compromising academic integrity.
Academic Writing Support with College-Level Expertise
I bring 14+ years of experience teaching college-level writing, research, and humanities, along with experience as an Advanced Placement Reader, where I evaluate and score AP exams.
As a published academic author and experienced educator, I understand:
- How AP and college-level writing is evaluated
- What strong academic arguments actually look like
- How students can meet rigorous expectations ethically and effectively
This is not editing or ghostwriting. It is guided, skill-based academic coaching that helps students learn how to think, organize, and revise their own work.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions does a student usually need?
It depends on the assignment and the student’s goals. Some students benefit from a single session, while others prefer two or three sessions for structured support. AP Research projects typically require no more than four sessions.
Can we start with one session?
Yes. Many families begin with a single session and decide afterward whether additional support would be helpful.
Is this tutoring or coaching?
This work is best described as academic writing coaching. Sessions focus on developing skills, strategies, and confidence—not correcting or rewriting student work.
Do you work with students from any school?
Yes. I work with students from public, private, and homeschool settings in Paducah and surrounding communities.
Are group sessions available?
Yes. Small group writing preparation sessions are available for student- or family-formed groups. I do not place students into groups.
